Please be informed that from 15-06-2023 the Embassy suspends the acceptance of personal applications for tourist visas and visas for the purpose of “visiting friends ” from citizens of the Republic of Belarus, Russian Federation and Ukraine in the Consular Section of the Embassy of Hungary. Applications for this type of visas will be accepted only through VFS Global visa centers.

The exception is the visit of close relatives. Registration for submission in this case is done through e-mail of the consular section of the Embassy.

Entry for all other purposes of “C” visa will also be made via e-mail visa.msk@mfa.gov.hu with attached invitation and a copy of the applicant's passport and contact phone number, subject to availability.

Foreign citizens with a valid residence permit in the Republic of Belarus may apply for “C” visas at the Embassy by prior appointment via e-mail visa.msk@mfa.gov.hu.

Registration for visa type “D” (residence permit) and other consular services is carried out through the online registration system: https://konzinfobooking.mfa.gov.hu/.

All entries made before 15.06.2023 remain unchanged!

The Government Decree 450/2024 (XII. 23.) on the employment of guest workers in Hungary was published in the Hungarian Gazette No. 135, which entered into force on 1 January 2025.

On the basis of the legislation, after 1st of January 2025—subject to the exceptions described in point II—nationals of the following countries listed in Annex 1 of the Government Decree may be employed in Hungary with a residence permit for employment purposes and a residence permit for guest worker purposes:

  • Georgia
  • Armenia
  • Philippines

Based on the above, in order to protect the interests of applicants, the Hungarian Embassy generally does not accept applications for employment from third-country nationals other than those specified.

If the applicant insists, the submission of applications and payment of the administrative fee by citizens who do not fall under the specified citizenship category is still possible, if the applicant notes that the application is likely to be rejected by the National Directorate General of Migration (OIF).
